We are writing to request your support of an event that we are participating in again this year-Relay For LifeRelay For Life is a unique and fun way to raise money and awareness for the American Cancer Society’s mission to eliminate cancer.

Because cancer has affected everyone in one-way or another, we have decided to participate in the American Cancer Society Relay for Life of Perry County.  We are asking you to support us in this effort by making a donation to the American Cancer Society.

Our team is walking in the overnight Relay For Life taking place in Pinckneyville at the Fairgrounds on Friday, July 8, 6 pm through Saturday, July 9, 6 am.  Hundreds of people will be joining in this event that makes a difference in the fight against cancer. You are invited to attend. Relay For Life is an event for the entire community and a celebration of the progress being made in the fight against cancer.

A special part of the Relay For Life is the Luminaria Ceremony which will take place at dusk on Friday, July 8.  Candles will be lit to honor cancer survivors and those who have lost their battle with cancer.  We have enclosed a luminaria form if you would like to honor a loved one(s).  Luminaria  are purchased for a minimum of $10.

Our team’s goal is to raise money for cancer research, education, advocacy and patient services.  By making a check payable to the American Cancer Society and sending it to us, together we can make a difference.  If you have additional questions about Relay For Life, please call us at 618-357-8242 or email us at sharhig@hotmail.com

Thank you in advance for your support!  If you have cancer related questions, or if you would like to be a part of this exciting nationwide event, call your American Cancer Society National Cancer Information Center, day or night, at 1-800-ACS-2345.
